Hello all!

I’d just like to first thank everyone for following along my journey to medicine so far! I can’t believe I’ve reached 1000 followers on Instagram! The best part is that I’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to connect with SO many inspiring and ambitious students and others in the healthcare field. This year, I’ve made it a goal to blog more and post content that my followers/readers like and love.

So after seeing the requests for a post on skincare, here it is! I spent a lot of time honing in on my skincare regimen in 2017 and now I feel like it’s finally something that I love and works well for me. I’m all about combining both high and low end items (both in skincare and fashion). Below is a list of products that I use everyday for my skincare regimen, separated by AM/PM routine. Most of the products can be purchased at Target/Walmart and I’ve linked them below.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the products (I’m no dermatologist but I have used the products for a while now and love them!) Also, feel free to share what your favorite skincare products are!

AM:

1. CeraVe Facial Lotion SPF 30 AM: CeraVe is a great brand for those with sensitive skin! I like how gentle this lotion is and the ceramides contained in this lotion are great for your skin. CeraVe SPF

2. LaRoche Posay Anthelios Sunscreen: All hail LaRoche Posay! One of my favorite brands because they use quality ingredients that truly help protect your skin. Non-greasy and easy application. LRP Sunscreen

3. Thayer’s WitchHazel Toner Water: I love this product because it keeps me feeling refreshed and has great moisturizing capabilities. The witch hazel ingredient is helpful in improving overall skin tone. I typically like to spritz throughout the day to keep my skin moist! Toner Water

PM:

1. Cetaphil cleanser: Very popular product for those with sensitive skin. I like how cleansing the Cetaphil is and how it is gentle on my skin. Good for normal/oily skin. Cetaphil Cleanser

2. CeraVe PM Moisturizer: One of my nightly essentials! I like how lightweight this moisturizer is and how it doesn’t cause any breakouts. CeraVe is known for its products containing ceramides (hence, Cera-Ve) which help maintain your skin’s barrier. Definitely recommend for sensitive skin! CeraVe PM

3. Skinceuticals HA Intensifier: I can’t say enough about this product! It is MAGIC! I started using it about 6 months ago and have certainly noticed positive effects. It seems to have evened out my skin tone and improved the overall suppleness of my skin. It is on the $$$ side so I would recommend checking out more budget-friendly products, such as The Ordinary HA serum before purchasing this one. Hyaluronic acid is extremely useful in boosting hydration and improving skin texture.

4.Skinceuticals B5 Gel: I like to use this on occasion when my skin is feeling extra dehydrated. A great product overall, but I think the HA intensifier is definitely my #1 favorite from Skinceuticals. Skinceuticals B5 Gel

5.Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel eye cream: I just started using this product to be honest and I’m not sure if there are better long-term effects. Of course, I haven’t noticed any crazy changes yet, but I’ve added this to my routine so that I can keep the skin aaround my eyes moist and supple (major key for anti-aging). Also pro tip I learned this year: Use your ring finger to apply because it is the most gentle! Neutrogena Hydroboost eye gel

6. Thayer’s WitchHazel: I really love to spritz this before applying moisturizer and after cleansing!

As a general rule, I like to apply my products starting from the most lightweight to heavier products (ie. toner, serums, then moisturizer, sunscreen).

Let me know if you use any of these products or if you have a few favorites!

Xo,

Style and Scrubs
